Norman Buchanan was last seen on Wednesday

While looking for a guy who went missing from his Nelson home, a body has been discovered. The identity of Norman Buchanan, who was 70 years old, has been verified by the police.

At about eight in the morning on Wednesday, September 25, Mr. Buchanan was last observed in Nelson on Brunswick Street. The last two days have been spent on the search.

Lancashire Police confirmed tonight (Friday) shortly before 7pm that they had called off the search after the body was confirmed as Mr Buchanan’s.

Lancashire Police stated: “I’m afraid we have some unfortunate news to share with you this evening. We previously requested your assistance in locating Norman Buchanan, 70, who went missing from his Nelson home.

Sadly, early today we got a call reporting that a corpse had been spotted on the canal side close to Slipper Hill at Foulridge. Now that patrols have arrived, Norman’s body has been positively identified.”
