Hot Wheels Brings the Legendary Renault Espace F1 to Life

Hot Wheels is set to release one of the most iconic and obscure concept cars of all time—the 1994 Renault Espace F1. This high-performance minivan, a wild fusion of practicality and Formula 1 engineering, is finally getting its miniature die-cast version.

Renault introduced the Espace F1 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its groundbreaking Espace minivan. However, this wasn’t an ordinary family hauler. Renault engineers fitted it with a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V10 engine derived from the Renault-powered Williams FW15C Formula 1 car. The result? A staggering 800 horsepower, allowing this minivan to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 194 mph.

While the original Espace was known for its spaciousness and versatility, the Espace F1 transformed that practicality into sheer performance. The chassis was entirely reworked, incorporating carbon fiber and advanced aerodynamics to handle the extreme speeds. Inside, four bucket racing seats and an F1-inspired dashboard reinforced its track-focused identity.

Hot Wheels’ decision to add the Espace F1 to its lineup is a thrilling one, especially as the brand expands its collection to include more Formula 1 cars. The die-cast model will capture the essence of the legendary concept, from its aggressive wide-body design to the massive rear wing and iconic Renault yellow-and-black livery.

This move signals Hot Wheels’ commitment to celebrating both classic and unconventional performance cars. The Espace F1 remains a symbol of Renault’s bold innovation, blending practicality with raw motorsport power. Fans of both Hot Wheels and automotive history can soon own a piece of this legendary machine in 1:

64 scale.
