Bulls Announce Josh Giddey News Before Lakers Game

The Chicago Bulls have announced that guard Josh Giddey will remain sidelined for the upcoming game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a right ankle sprain sustained on March 10 against the Indiana Pacers. Prior to his injury, Giddey had been instrumental in the Bulls’ recent success, averaging 23.1 points and shooting 52.5% from three-point range over his last nine games, including a triple-double performance against the Miami Heat.

Head coach Billy Donovan provided an update on Giddey’s condition, stating that he is progressing well and has been out of the walking boot. However, Donovan emphasized that Giddey “is going to be out for a little bit,” indicating a cautious approach to his return.

Giddey’s absence comes at a pivotal time for the Bulls, who are striving to secure a spot in the Play-In Tournament. Since acquiring Giddey from the Oklahoma City Thunder in June 2024, he has emerged as a key playmaker for Chicago, recording multiple triple-doubles this season and enhancing his three-point shooting.

In Giddey’s stead, players like Coby White have stepped up, with White notably scoring 31 points in a recent victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The Bulls will need continued contributions from their roster to maintain momentum in Giddey’s absence.

The team has not provided a specific timeline for Giddey’s return, but his progress will be closely monitored as the Bulls approach the final stretch of the regular season.
