Hamas Accepts Gaza Truce Plan, Rejects U.S. Proposal to Expel Leaders

Hamas has agreed to a ceasefire plan aimed at halting the ongoing conflict in Gaza but has firmly rejected a reported U.S. proposal that would require the expulsion of its leadership from the territory. The group’s decision was confirmed by senior officials, emphasizing that any resolution must include an end to Israeli military operations and the withdrawal of forces from Gaza.

The truce plan, mediated by international parties, seeks to ease hostilities and facilitate humanitarian aid. However, Hamas insists that it will not accept terms that undermine its leadership or political presence in Gaza.

The U.S. and Israel have previously stated that any long-term solution must involve the removal of Hamas from power. However, Hamas officials have dismissed such conditions, calling them unacceptable and non-negotiable.

The rejection of the expulsion proposal adds complexity to ceasefire efforts, as regional and international mediators continue negotiations to establish a lasting peace in the region.
