As he continues to think about his future step after leaving Red Bull at the end of 2024, fired Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez has stated that a lot of avenues are open.

Perez was replaced by Liam Lawson in December after a difficult season in which he found it difficult to deliver the necessary performances; the 35-year-old will now miss the 2025 season.

On the Prodynamics YouTube channel, three months after leaving Formula One, Perez has now disclosed if he intends to return to the sport. He stated: “I gave myself six months to evaluate what possibilities I have and make the decision on what the next step in my career is.”

“Having this career has been a huge blessing for me. The doors are open.

Perez did not specify which Formula One teams, if any, he had contacted to arrange a comeback; however, Cadillac seems to be the most plausible candidate.

Two highly sought-after seats are up for grabs as Cadillac will become the eleventh team to join the Formula One grid in 2026. These seats are available to both veterans who were left without a place for 2025 and rookie drivers hoping to make their Formula One debut.

Mario Andretti, who is on the board of the new Cadillac team, acknowledged that Perez was a possibility for one of the seats during an interview with the ESPN Racing podcast.
