Ukraine has thrown its weight behind the United States’ recent sanctions against Iranian companies supplying drones to Russia, which are being used in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The US Treasury Department has specifically targeted an Iranian drone manufacturer accused of providing kamikaze drones to Russia, which have been used in attacks on Ukrainian cities like Kyiv.

The sanctions are part of a broader effort by the US, UK, and EU to disrupt Iran’s military support for Russia. The UK has also imposed sanctions on several Iranian individuals and organizations involved in ballistic missile and drone supply chains. Additionally, the EU is expected to introduce further restrictive measures against Iran.

Ukraine’s backing of the US sanctions underscores the international community’s growing concern over Iran’s military support for Russia. The sanctions aim to disrupt Iran’s production and supply of unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles, ultimately impacting Russia’s war efforts in Ukraine.
