Australian Formula One driver Jack Doohan experienced a significant crash during a practice session for the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix. The 22-year-old Alpine driver lost control of his car at Turn 1, colliding heavily with the barriers on his fourth lap. The impact resulted in substantial damage to his vehicle, including the detachment of a tire, and led to a red flag halting the session.
Despite the severity of the accident, Doohan promptly communicated over the team radio, assuring, “I’m OK.” He was subsequently assisted into a car and taken to the medical center for evaluation. Commentators noted that Doohan appeared shaken but was able to exit the vehicle under his own power.
The session was notably chaotic, featuring multiple incidents, including a grass fire ignited by a Sauber car and another red flag caused by veteran driver Fernando Alonso.
