As the Formula 1 season progresses, McLaren is focusing on optimizing their car setup to better suit Lando Norris’s driving style, particularly at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Despite the team’s strong performance, with Oscar Piastri securing pole position, Norris qualified sixth and described his session as “clueless,” indicating discomfort with the car’s handling.
McLaren’s team principal, Andrea Stella, acknowledged the need for a comprehensive approach to boost Norris’s confidence and performance. This includes detailed analysis and collaboration between the driver and engineering team to understand and address the challenges faced.
Norris emphasized that the issues were not due to the car or team but stemmed from his inability to adapt to the vehicle’s characteristics during qualifying. He remains optimistic about the race, noting that the car’s pace offers strategic opportunities.
McLaren’s efforts to adjust the car’s setup aim to provide Norris with a more comfortable and competitive platform, enhancing his performance in upcoming races.
