In a landmark agreement, Formula 1 has announced a 10-year extension of the Miami Grand Prix, ensuring the race’s presence on the F1 calendar through 2041. This extension, the longest in the sport’s history, solidifies Miami’s role as a pivotal venue in Formula 1’s U.S. strategy.
Since its debut in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix has rapidly become a marquee event, contributing over $1 billion to the local economy and drawing record-breaking crowds and television viewership. In 2024, the event was recognized as F1’s “Promoter of the Year” due to its community engagement initiatives, including internships and collaborations with local charities and businesses.
Held around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, the race is one of three U.S.-based F1 races, alongside Austin and Las Vegas. F1 President Stefano Domenicali emphasized Miami’s strategic importance for U.S. market growth and fan engagement.
The extension follows a recent three-year deal renewal with Mexico City, underscoring F1’s broader North American strategy. Last year’s Miami race attracted 275,000 attendees and a U.S. television audience of 3.1 million, setting a national viewership record for the sport.
This long-term commitment reflects Formula 1’s confidence in the Miami Grand Prix’s continued success and its role in expanding the sport’s footprint in the United States.
