With a 2-1 comeback victory over London rivals West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Monday, Chelsea got back to winning ways.

The victory puts the Blues back in fourth place in the Premier League standings, and it looks like Chelsea supporters may have more good news off the pitch.

Chelsea has finalised the acquisition of Saint-Etienne midfielder Mathis Amougou, according to Fabrizio Romano.

According to reports, Agoudou, a versatile player who can play as a central midfielder or a defensive midfielder, has agreed to a deal with the Blues.

He is a graduate of Saint-Etienne’s youth program and, since making his debut last season, has made 19 appearances for the French team at the senior level.

Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake took over Chelsea in 2022, the Frenchman is the most recent in a long line of gifted young players to join the West London team.

The midfielder, who has played for his country at various juvenile levels up to the under-19s, is seen to be among the most gifted young players in France.

According to Romano, Saint-Etienne will also profit from a sell-on percentage clause, and the Blues will pay a fee of around £12.4 million to recruit the teenager.

The Frenchman will battle for a starting position at Stamford Bridge against players like Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia if he signs with Maresca’s team right away.
