The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is currently underway at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, running from February 27 through March 2. This annual event gathers approximately 329 top college football prospects to showcase their talents in front of NFL coaches, general managers, and scouts.
Schedule Overview:
February 27: Defensive linemen and linebackers commenced on-field workouts.
February 28: Defensive backs and tight ends are showcasing their skills.
March 1: Quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs are slated to perform.
March 2: Offensive linemen will conclude the on-field evaluations.
Notable Performances and Updates:
On February 27, defensive prospects made significant impressions. Defensive tackles Alfred Collins from Texas and Darius Alexander from Toledo stood out with their athleticism and technique. Edge rushers Landon Jackson of Arkansas and James Pearce Jr. from Tennessee showcased exceptional speed and agility, enhancing their draft prospects.
However, the event has faced challenges with the newly installed turf at Lucas Oil Stadium. Players, including Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman and Ole Miss edge rusher Jared Ivey, experienced slipping during drills. The turf, made of coconut husk and cork, requires regular watering, which has affected its reliability for quick movements.
February 28 focuses on defensive backs and tight ends. Standout prospects include tight ends Tyler Warren from Penn State and Colston Loveland from Michigan. In the defensive backfield, safeties Nick Emmanwori of South Carolina and Malaki Starks from Georgia are among those to watch. Notably, Colorado’s Travis Hunter, a top cornerback prospect, is not participating in drills.
