This is a really wise decision for Wednesday and Beadle. The Owls are eager to move up the ladder and know they are receiving a valuable player in Beadle, who was crucial to their success the previous season.

Regarding the player, he will benefit from crucial first-team experience with a franchise that genuinely cares about him, which will only accelerate his growth. By the time the season ends, the decision about his future may heavily depend on this loan.

Sheffield Wednesday may decide not to pursue a permanent signing of Ike Ugbo from Troyes and instead focus on acquiring Sory Kaba from Las Palmas.

After spending the first half of the season on loan at Championship opponent Cardiff City, striker Ugbo signed on loan from French team Troyes. The Canadian international made a significant contribution, scoring seven goals and dishing out one assist in 19 games to help the team win promotion to the second division.

This form was not ignored, though, as journalist Darren Witcoop has revealed that Wednesday may be priced out of a long-term transfer for the Troyes midfielder.

But Wednesday does have a backup plan. Kaba, a striker for Las Palmas who spent the 2022–2023 season at Cardiff, is said to be of interest to Wednesday. Kaba has played in the Championship before.

According to Darren Witcoop, Kaba joined the La Liga team last summer but is free to depart after just one season. Several Championship teams are reportedly interested in signing him.

Callum Maxted, one of our fan pundits for Sheffield Wednesday, thinks his team may be priced out after Ugbo’s impressive loan stint, but he still wants to bring him in permanently this summer.

This implies that they could have to look elsewhere, and Kaba of Las Palmas might be a good substitute.

Sory Kaba has proved his worth at Championship level

In January 2023, Kaba joined a Cardiff team that was fighting for promotion from the Championship. Kaba was instrumental in keeping the team from going down.

Despite only joining the Bluebirds on January 31st, the Guinea international featured in 17 games, scoring eight goals, dishing out one assist, and finishing as the team’s top scorer. It was his first experience playing English football.

Had it not been for Reading’s six-point deduction and Kaba’s goals, the Bluebirds would have finished 21st that season and really been relegated. Instead, they would have played in League One in 2023–2024.

Wednesday shouldn’t be deterred by the former FC Midtylland striker’s performance with Las Palmas because he is a strong, robust, and skilled aerial attacker.

Although Kaba has only netted twice in 20 games for the Canary Islands team, La Liga is unquestionably a better league than the Championship, and he has demonstrated his ability as a player in the past.

Wednesday shouldn’t panic if they can’t close a deal for Ugbo; instead, they should target signing Kaba this summer.

A player said to be of interest to Sheffield Wednesday has been made available for transfer this summer, according to a French football director.

Before what appears to be a hectic summer of action, The Star reported earlier this month that Wednesday had made contact over Karamoko Dembele’s availability and that he was on the longlist of players they had looked at as possible targets.

Bright attacking player Dembele, 21, made waves in Scotland in 2016 when he made his under-20 team debut for Celtic at the age of 13. The five-foot-six flier, who has since signed with the French club Brest, played on loan in League One with Blackpool last season, when he scored eight goals and provided thirteen assists in 39 league games to launch a bright young career.

Several teams have expressed interest in him since his comeback, including Wednesday. Since then, reports have claimed that Everton, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Southampton, Leeds United, Derby County, and Middlesbrough have attracted adoring glances.

The attacking midfielder will not be staying with Brest, according to Get French Football News (via L’Équipe), despite the team’s incredible run to third place in Ligue 1 and Champions League qualification.
