The Chicago Bulls have announced that forward Patrick Williams will be sidelined for at least two weeks due to tendinosis in his right knee. Williams received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to address the condition and will be re-evaluated after the two-week period.

Williams, 23, has been a consistent presence for the Bulls this season, averaging 9.1 points and 4.0 rebounds over 45 games. Since being drafted fourth overall by Chicago in 2020, he has maintained career averages of 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds across 258 games.

The injury occurred during the Bulls’ 128-110 victory over the Detroit Pistons on February 12, where Williams contributed three points and one rebound in 18 minutes of play.

This development adds to the Bulls’ injury challenges, as guard Ayo Dosunmu is also sidelined indefinitely due to a shoulder injury. Head coach Billy Donovan reported that Dosunmu is experiencing instability in his shoulder, with no specific timeline set for his return.

The absence of Williams and Dosunmu presents a significant hurdle for the Bulls as they strive to secure a spot in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. Currently, they hold a 22-34 record and are on a five-game losing streak. The team’s depth will be tested in the upcoming weeks, with players like Josh Giddey and Coby White expected to take on expanded roles.

The Bulls’ upcoming schedule includes matchups against the Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Orlando Magic. These games will be crucial in determining their postseason aspirations.

Fans and analysts alike will be closely monitoring the Bulls’ performance during this challenging period, hoping for a swift recovery for both Williams and Dosunmu to bolster the team’s chances in the final stretch of the season.
