The Tampa Bay Bucs defeated the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon, despite committing numerous errors in the first half of the game. After a commanding last 30 minutes, the Bucs easily defeated their division foe, 51–27. With 594 total yards, Tampa Bay broke the mark, helped by a superb performance on the ground.

The Bucs looked impressive on both ends of the ball as they jumped out to a 17-0 lead. That lead quickly vanished as a series of Tampa Bay errors occurred. Mayfield threw three interceptions, but two of those were the result of unfortunate errors. However, a score on a punt return by New Orleans drastically changed the game’s momentum and set up 27 straight points. The third quarter would see the Saints’ tsunami subside. New Orleans and Tampa Bay would trade punts before the guests broke the ice. A quick pass to Chris Godwin turned into a huge play that culminated in a 55-yard score.

With a one-yard punch-in touchdown to cap off the drive, Bucky Irving demonstrated his dominance on the ground before scoring the game’s winning touchdown. Sean Tucker, the third-string running back, led the way for the Bucs with 136 of their 264 rushing yards. Tykee Smith, who had the lead 44–27, intercepted a ball meant for Rashid Shaheed to record the Bucs’ third interceptions of the contest. After that, Tampa Bay put even more strain on the fatigued Saints defence.
