Brighton make contract deal for a new manager

At the conclusion of the just finished season, Roberto De Zerbi left Brighton & Hove Albion, and the Seagulls have not yet named a replacement.

Premier League team FC St. Pauli manager Fabian Hürzeler is their target.

Sky Deutschland reports that Brighton is genuinely interested in the 31-year-old.

Hürzeler began his coaching career in 2016 at FC Pipinsried. He joined St. Pauli in 2022 and played a key role in the team’s 2. Bundesliga victory, which secured promotion to the first division.

The German is reportedly one of the top contenders to take over the open position at The Amex, as his work for St. Pauli appears to have persuaded the Seagulls. Brighton has reached out to Hürzeler already.

According to Sky, the manager hasn’t decided on Brighton yet and doesn’t currently have a release clause in his contract. Although they haven’t gotten in touch with St. Pauli yet, that may happen soon given how eager the Premier League team is to acquire Hürzeler.

Hürzeler would be the Premier League’s youngest manager if he were to sign with Brighton.

According to recent rumours, Brighton is reportedly considering Malmö FF manager Henrik Rydström as well.
