Chinese Man Calls Out EFCC from China Over Verydarkman’s Arrest, Shares How Activist Helped Him

A Chinese national has spoken out from China following the recent arrest of Nigerian social media activist, Verydarkman, calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release him and describing the activist as a “man of truth and justice.”

In a video now circulating widely on social media, the Chinese man recounted how Verydarkman helped him during a troubling encounter in Nigeria involving financial exploitation. According to him, he was scammed by a group of individuals in Nigeria while trying to invest in a local business. Feeling helpless and unsure of how to navigate the situation, he said it was Verydarkman who took up his case, exposed the fraudsters online, and ensured he recovered part of his money.

“Verydarkman helped me when I had no one else. He stood for me not because I paid him, but because he believed in justice. Arresting such a man is wrong,” the Chinese man stated emotionally.

The man further criticized the EFCC, claiming their focus should be on real criminals rather than silencing voices that expose corruption. He expressed concern that Verydarkman’s arrest could discourage others from speaking up against injustice in Nigeria.

Verydarkman, known for his fearless activism and outspoken videos on social issues, was reportedly arrested over allegations related to cyberbullying and defamation, though full details remain unclear. His detention has sparked debates online, with many Nigerians and now foreigners, voicing support for his release.

Public pressure continues to mount as the EFCC has yet to issue an official statement.
