North Carolina Tar Heels basketball is on a mission for “Glass Redemption,” seeking to reclaim the rebounding dominance that has historically defined the program. After a disappointing national ranking of 106th in rebounds per game, the focus for the upcoming season is clearly on dominating the boards. While veterans will be crucial, keep an eye on freshman combo guard Derek Dixon.

Though known for his elite shooting and offensive versatility, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound four-star recruit from Washington, D.C. has been lauded for his high basketball IQ and disciplined defense, suggesting he could be a “sleeper” who contributes more than just scoring. His ability to understand the game and be in the right spots could make him a surprisingly impactful player in Carolina’s quest to once again own the glass.
