Body parts of missing woman found at Lincolnshire country park

Published

on

Three months after the woman vanished, authorities have confirmed that her body parts were recovered hidden inside bags at a country park.

On November 9 of last year, Ilona Golabek, 27, disappeared from her Boston, Lincolnshire, home. As a result, detectives opened a murder investigation.

Two weeks later, 40-year-old Kamil Ranoszek was taken into custody and accused of murder. He is at Lincoln Crown Court awaiting trial at this time.

Officers attended and recovered bones which were later confirmed to be human while specialist teams found other body parts in three other areas of the park.

The remains were sent off for DNA tests to be carried out which have now confirmed they belonged to Ilona.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt said: ‘We have located some body parts concealed in bags in the park since we started searching the area on 19 February.

“We’re still in the park, and we’re looking everywhere.” Our sympathies are with Ilona’s family, who are aware of this.

We are urging anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in or around the park to get in touch with us as we continue our call for witnesses.

For the rest of the week, officers will be stationed at the park as additional site inspections are conducted.

The police no longer think the woman in the CCTV footage that they previously disclosed fit Ilona’s description.

“Our thoughts are with her family at this very difficult time,” East Midlands Special Operations Unit Detective Chief Inspector Richard Myszczyszyn stated at the time.

Kamil Ranoszek has been charged after we detained him on November 21st on suspicion of murder.

The 32-year-old second arrested man was freed pending further investigation.

“We acknowledge that the Boston community may be concerned. At this point in our investigation, I am unable to provide many details, but I can say that we believe the individuals involved are well-known to one another and that this is an isolated incident.”

Investigators are still urging anyone with information to get in touch with the force by dialling 101 and mentioning November 11 incident 200.

Man sentence in Lincolnshire

“He has consistently shown no remorse for his abusive behaviour.”

A seven-year prison sentence has been imposed on a Yeovil rally driving official who perpetrated previous sexual offences against a juvenile girl. Judge James House KC of Lincoln Crown Court imprisoned 65-year-old Simon Slade after finding him guilty of two severe sexual offences and one count of indecent assault.

According to the prosecution, Slade set up several scenarios in which the young victim engaged in sexual intercourse and groomed and coerced her into doing so. Slade only ceased his offence when his then-partner became aware of what he was doing and requested that he cease.

The survivor came forward to talk about what had happened and how she had been coerced into having sex with Slade more than twenty years later. Slade first denied having had sex, but evidence of his behavior—including a folder with pictures and letters he had taken at the time—was discovered at his house.

This proof demonstrated that his interactions with the victim had been abusive rather than just sexual. In January of last year, Slade—who is currently residing on Cherry Tree Drive in Yeovil—appeared at Boston Magistrates Court over charges that took place in the late 1990s.

There were two crimes in Lincolnshire. The matter was moved to Lincoln Crown Court after the bench declined to take jurisdiction.

Slade received prison terms of four years for the indecent assault charge and seven years for each of the other charges. They were all to be served simultaneously.

“Simon Slade was an abusive predator who purposefully sought out a young teenager to satisfy his perverted desires,” stated Alison O’Shea of the Crown Prosecution Service. The evidence he had was a repugnant exhibition of dominance and conquest.

“In this instance, the survivor was quite justified in coming forward to disclose what had occurred and in telling a coherent and captivating tale all the way through. Slade, on the other hand, has altered his account and attempted to indicate that the survivor has some sort of guilt.

“He has persistently failed to take responsibility for his abusive actions, but he has now faced the consequences of what he did over 20 years ago.”
