At around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, there were reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a white Fiat 500, a black BMW 114i, and a red Mercedes lorry. Emergency services were dispatched to Saxmundham Road, which is near Leiston. Initially stuck in their cars, the drivers of the two cars were freed by a Suffolk Fire and Rescue crew. According to the police, the Fiat’s driver suffered a severe leg injury.

Aldeburgh and Leiston crews, as well as the ambulance officer’s car, were present at the incident with three ambulances.
Following the rescue of the two cars, the road was reopened around 9:50 p.m.
Police are looking for witnesses to the collision and requesting that anyone who was travelling through the area at the time of the event and had a dashcam installed look through the film for anything that could be helpful.
