Ambulance crews scrambled to the busy junction between Ardmillan Terrace and Gorgie Road at around 8.45am on Wednesday after a vehicle and a motorbike reportedly collided.

On Wednesday morning during rush hour in Edinburgh, emergency personnel rushed to a collision.

At about 8.15 a.m., ambulance personnel hurried to the busy intersection of Ardmillan Terrace and Gorgie Road following reports of a collision involving a car and a motorbike.

The 46-year-old rider was brought to the hospital for medical attention.

One frightened Gorgie local has condemned the junction and said she needs to ‘take deep breaths’ before crossing.

Lorraine Devanney, 66, reportedly described hearing a “loud crash” and seeing a motorbike lying in the road. She said other drivers swerved around the bike, refusing to stop, while doctors rushed to help.

She said: “I was putting out my recycling and heard this enormous crash, the large motorbike was in the middle of the road and the biker fled over to Henderson Terrace, in astonishment I imagine. The thing that looked the worst was how all of the traffic from the four highways was circling the accident, the buses, and the parking lot.

“It just appeared so distressing and callous. The doctors stayed for a while, but I’m not sure what happened in the end.

“I’ve lived through some really scary intersections, and they’re only going to get worse.

since 1986, on this corner. Brick walls were smashed when a car struck the building last year’.

Lorraine added: “After living here for so long, I now take a deep breath before I have to negotiate any of the crossings at this junction.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on Dalry Road, Edinburgh, around 8.15am on Wednesday, 25 September.

“Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.

The car’s driver will have a traffic infraction recorded to the Procurator Fiscal.”

“We received a call at 08:15 to attend a road traffic collision on Ardmillan Terrace, Edinburgh,” a spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service continued.

“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transported to Royal Infirmary Edinburgh.”
