Tigers want away player sign contract extension

Last week, he requested an early release from the club.

Two teams are apparently keeping a close eye on the situation and may decide to make a move for teenage phenom Lachlan Galvin in the future, thus the Wests Tigers are trying to extend his contract.

This follows the confirmation by Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson that Galvin’s management contacted the team last week to request an early release from the team.

Galvin, one of the NRL’s top rookies, has been a standout player for the Wests Tigers during yet another terrible season that has seen them drop to the bottom of the standings.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, his immediate future is still up in the air and unclear, that the Tigers and Shane Richardson have extended a deal and given his management an instant increase.

This follows tidings from The Daily Telegraph that the Sydney Roosters and Penrith Panthers are keeping a careful eye on his circumstances.

“Galvin will wind up at Penrith if he is released,” a source informed the Telegraph.

He is signed for two more seasons, so theoretically no clubs may speak to him, but many sources have told The Herald that he would like to play alongside Nathan Cleary at Penrith.

“We do not intend to set him free. It’s that easy,” Richardson said to News Corp.

“I’m having a meeting with his parents next week, which is upsetting that the request has been made. I believe there are numerous causes for it.

We’re not winning games, he’s a young child, and he’s having trouble. All I can say is that Jahream Bula, Api (Koroisau), and Jarome Luai will be our spine players when they arrive next year.

“We intend to hold Lachlan to the terms of the contract we have in place.”

Tigers star player signs new contract despite

Published

Adam Doueihi has re-committed to the West Tigers for a further season as he prepares to return to the NRL after a lengthy injury absence.

The 25-year-old spent over a year on the sidelines after suffering an ACL rupture last season, before finally making his comeback via NSW Cup last weekend.

Doueihi has been named among the reserves for the club’s round 16 clash against the Raiders, with the Lebanese international hopeful of a first grade return soon.

“He is a tremendously talented footballer whose resilience and mental toughness cannot be questioned. And more importantly, he is a very good person.”

With 87 games to his name and the ability to cover a plethora of positions, Doueihi could be a valuable asset to Marshall for the next year and beyond.

In the black and gold, the utility feels he still has a lot of opportunity to grow.

“I’m still only 25 and I know my best years are ahead of me,” he stated.

“I’ll be working as hard as I can over the rest of this season and next season and I’m excited about the years ahead.”

Doueihi’s future at the Tigers is probably in the centres or on lock because the team has four other playmakers signed for 2025 and beyond: Latu Fainu, Lachlan Galvin, Jayden Sullivan, and Jarome Luai.

Jayden Sullivan message to fans regarding future with Tigers

Published

on

Playmaker Jayden Sullivan of the WESTS TIGERS has stated that he intends to remain and compete for his spot at the Concord club in 2025.

In the past, Sullivan was connected to a Super League transfer to Hull FC, and Salford Red Devils have been mentioned by Rugby League Live as a potential suitor for the 22-year-old.

Prior to the 2024 NRL season, the 22-year-old just inked a long-term deal worth an estimated $2.6 million with the Tigers, but he struggled with form and was benched in favor of fellow half Aidan Sezer and Lachlan Galvin.

Sullivan, though, is content to remain a Tiger.

He told the Sydney Morning Herald, “One hundred percent, I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon.”

“I intend to play for the Wests Tigers for the ensuing four years.” From my perspective, nothing appears to have changed. We are all human at the end of the day, therefore it definitely affects me. However, I’m surrounded by a pretty strong support system.

Although difficult, it has only strengthened me. Everybody desires to be a first-grader.

“I want to play my best football and make the starting 17,” the player said. I adore the club, and I think my relocation was a great choice.

Meanwhile, Sullivan’s finger ailment has kept him out of action for the past few weeks.

Wests Tigers chief set to sign English forward

Jayden Sullivan is expected to join the Wests Tigers’ “mass exodus” to the Super League, having previously had strong ties to both the Hull FC and the Salford Red Devils.

Last month, the Sydney Morning Herald revealed that Shane Richardson, the chief executive of Wests Tigers, had travelled to England in order to present players to Super League teams. They indicated that Bateman was one of the players who would likely receive an offer.

Jayden Sullivan was the main guy they were trying to get rid of because his contract, which was worth half a million Australian dollars, was really going to get bigger in the last years.

Jayden Sullivan was the main guy they were trying to get rid of because his contract, which was worth half a million Australian dollars, was really going to get bigger in the last years.

He became a Wests player before this year, but Shane Richardson, the club’s chief executive, who joined after, wants him gone.

It was certain that he would go to the MKM Stadium, but according to a report from Rugby League Live, Salford Red Devils and Wests have agreed to terms for a deal; the player simply needs to give his approval.

Furthermore, Wests are reportedly in “advanced talks to bring in an unnamed English forward in 2025,” according to Wide World of Sports.

In light of that, Leigh prop Tom Amone may be joined by three other candidates in the NRL.

Three English forwards that could join Wests Tigers

Elliot Minchella (82 Super League appearances)

Minchella, who is only 28 years old, has played for a number of teams, including the London Broncos, Bradford Bulls, Sheffield Eagles, Leeds Rhinos, and Hull KR, where he has been instrumental in their ascent.

Only one game has he missed this season, and it was because of a groyne injury.

His status as captain and the first name on the squad sheet indicates how well-liked he is at Craven Park.

But now might be the right moment to move to Australia, where the NRL’s attraction and higher salary might make it harder for the Robins to hang onto their man.

Even though they are currently among the better teams in the league, they are still unable to match NRL teams financially.

Tyler Dupree (53 Super League appearances)

The 24-year-old is a vital component of the incredibly potent Wigan Warriors team and one of the top props in Super League at the moment.

Although he was disappointed not to make it to the Challenge Cup final, he has proven his worth to the Warriors in Super League since joining them from Salford halfway through the 2023 campaign.

The prop signed a four-year contract, but if the Wests Tigers are serious in acquiring him, they should have the cash to buy him out of it given the number of high-profile players being let go.

The length of his deal may have indicated how highly the Warriors regard him, but they are a team that is loaded with talented forwards and are therefore more likely to let him leave.

George Delaney (31 Super League appearances)

Delaney, another member of a talented team, is only 20 years old.

His contract expires at the end of 2026, but once more, Wests ought to be able to work something out.

A product of the Saints programme, he has already made 31 Super League games, however he has never started more than one game in a row, with the exception of his six consecutive starts in 2023.

The Wests need to make significant changes, and Delaney might see an opportunity to start for their underperforming team.

In any case, he will undoubtedly be considering a number of NRL teams, and the Tigers may see this as a chance to sign him before their competitors in the league.

They would be stupid not to at least give it a shot, as he is undoubtedly one of the best young forward prospects in the world.
