The Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford was called to the scene

A major route between Bedworth and Bulkington was stopped for hours after a biker was gravely injured in a collision with a car. Yesterday afternoon, Warwickshire police had to block off a portion of Bedworth Road.

It came after 999 calls of a car and motorcycle crash. Three ambulances and a paramedic officer were dispatched by the West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) after the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford was alerted to the scene.

The unnamed rider was discovered to have suffered severe injuries by medical personnel. According to a WMAS representative, the female driver of the vehicle also suffered possibly life-threatening injuries.
“We were called at around 1.30pm to reports of an RTC on Bedworth Road near Bulkington, Bedworth and sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene,” the WMAS spokesperson said. “On arrival, crews discovered a motorbike and a car had been involved in a collision.

“The motorcyclist, a man, had suffered serious injuries and, following treatment at the scene by ambulance staff, was conveyed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. The driver of the car, a woman, was treated for potentially serious injuries and taken to the same hospital for further treatment.”

The section of road remained closed for almost four hours. CoventryLive has contacted Warwickshire Police about the collision.
